Salix babylonica — Chinese Weeping Willow

The type tree is rare, but var. pekinensis ‘Tortuosa’ (Corkscrew Willow), introduced early in the 20th century, is common as a garden tree.

Both the alternate leaves and the shoots of Corkscrew Willow are contorted and twisted, unlike any other tree apart from Corkscrew Hazel.
