Populus canescens — Grey Poplar
A common natural hybrid of White Poplar and Aspen.
A tall, heavy-limbed tree with features intermediate between the parents. The alternate leaves are more greyish than white beneath, but the wool is lost over the summer. Only a few leaves are strongly lobed, most are more rounded. The buds are intermediate between those of the parents.
