Tamarix gallica — Tamarisk
A bush tree, possibly native to Britain, found on shingle beachs in East Anglia, and common in gardens. There are a number of very similar introduced species. The flower images may be of T.parviflora, as this flowers in late spring.
The deciduous leaves are like fine cypress leaves, and yield a very light, fluffy foliage. Flowers in various shades of pink smother the shoots (in summer for T.gallica).
