Arbutus unedo — Strawberry Tree
A small evergreen tree in the Cornaceae (Dogwood) family, fairly frequent in warmer areas and found wild in Ireland.
The alternate oval leaves are finely-toothed. Off-white flowers are produced in autumn, followed by yellowish strawberry-like fruit which eventually ripens red.
