Photo Archive: Tangsa crisped rice cakes

Tangsa crisped rice cakes are a Tujia New Year speciality, and are made from a special kind of glutinous rice. The rice is steamed, sun-dried and then made into flat cakes which are deep-fried in tea oil. These cakes keep for months and may be eaten dry or steeped in boiling water. The language archive contains a procedural text describing how the cakes are made.
